The Right Way to Winterize

Preparing your vehicle for the changes in temperature is not a one step process, but it isn’t a terribly lengthy and complicated process either. While the process may consist of a number of steps, they are all relatively quick and simple to get done. Check out the list below to find out what you need to do to prepare your vehicle for winter.

  • Check Your Vehicle’s Fluid Levels – Regardless of the weather, it’s important that you’re always making sure to remain on schedule for regular maintenance, but before the snow appears you’ll want to make sure to bring your vehicle in to your local service center to have its fluid levels checked and changed.
  • Ensure All Lights are Working – When the seasons change and it starts to snow more frequently, it is crucial that your vehicle has working headlights, taillights, and fog lights so that you’re always able to see what’s around you.
  • Pack an Emergency Kit – While it’s not ideal, there is a chance that the weather may get too intense and result in your vehicle not being able to safely continue its journey. To make sure that you are prepared for this, pack an emergency kit and store it in your vehicle. This kit should include things like a flashlight, blanket, gloves, ice scraper, snacks, coolant, salt, and a first aid kit.
