2018 Jeep Wrangler

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler is already exciting significant attention throughout Maple Creek and Brooks, even though the currently-available 2016 Wrangler is still enjoying such intense popularity. At Jackson Dodge, we’ve been just as eager to find out what we can expect, so here’s what we know so far.

Upcoming SUV

Aluminum Construction

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler is expected by automotive insiders to feature an aluminum-intensive body, a move that would shave off a significant amount of weight. If this proves to be the case, Maple Creek and Brooks drivers will enjoy enhanced efficiency and performance.

The platform should remain a traditional body-on-frame setup, and it has been revealed that the vehicle will continue to be manufactured at its longtime Toledo, OH, factory. In fact, it should be built concurrently with the current Wrangler for at least six months. The Wrangler pickup variant will be built at the same facility.

Forward-Thinking Design

Few vehicles come with such a storied heritage as the Wrangler, so the team at Jeep always need to be careful not to deviate its design from the styling that drivers have come to know and love, all while meeting the demands of the modern world.

The 2016 Jeep Wrangler appears to walk the line well. The windshield looks to be further raked back in order to cut down on wind-resistance, the front-end appears slightly longer, and the front fenders seem both wider and squatter than before.

Reliable Power and Performance

The Wrangler has always commanded top-of-the-range ratings when it comes to off-roading, plus a powerful engine to ensure that it enjoys impressive performance. The 2018 model is likely to retain the legendary Pentastar V6, an engine that currently harnesses a Best-in-Class 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.

However, a new V6 turbo diesel and a mild-hybrid variant are expected to be added to the list of Wrangler power options, and all engines should be paired to a new eight-speed automatic transmission system.

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler is Set to be a Truck Worth Waiting For

Jeep clearly has big things planned for the 2018 Jeep Wrangler, so remember to keep checking back with us here at Jackson Dodge to find out about the latest announcements and rumors. We hope to see our Maple Creek and Brooks customers soon!
